Kim Nana & Lee Yoon Sung - Ending Continuation Fanfic - Chapter 4

“Home sweet home!” Nana cheered as she breathed in the scent of her apartment floor. The aroma of her home reminded her of many good things, as well as bad things. This was the place her mom sewed that tablecloth, the place where she did her homework and studied back in high school, the place where she missed Yoon Sung the most, the place where it cost money just from a shoulder touch and the place where every emotion has been felt. And soon, she will have to leave this home.

“Your home is now America, Nana” Yoon Sung reminded her jokingly.

“Not until we sell or rent out this place.” Nana said. “So how long are we staying in Korea for? Shin Eun Ah’s wedding is tomorrow.”

“A week. You can pack up all your stuff and we can hire a real estate agent to help us rent out or sell this place while we go back to America.”

Nana suddenly felt bittersweet. She was happy that she had the opportunity to live in America and be with Yoon Sung. However, she didn’t want to leave this home. This home had so many memories packed within, it was hard to let go.

Yoon Sung plopped himself on the small sofa and flashbacks of many memories came to him. This was Nana’s home and Nana’s home was his home. He could still smell the Kimchi Nana gave him and the magical coffee Nana could make. As much as Yoon Sung wanted to live in South Korea, he couldn’t. He knew that there was still potential danger because of his fake identity. Even if he took all precautions, he still couldn’t guarantee Umma, Ahjussi, and Nana’s safety in Korea. He wanted to protect the ones he treasured, and he would give up anything to protect those three people he loved dearly.

“This will be the last week I’ll ever live in this house again.” Nana sighed as she sat down next to Yoon Sung.

Yoon Sung laid his head on Nana’s shoulder with a smile on his face. Nana couldn’t help but smile as well. As the atmosphere got serious again, Nana asked, “How are you gonna go about seeing Da Hye again? This time as his half-brother? She’s invited to the wedding, you know.”

Yoon Sung chuckled. “As annoying as she is, I do care about her because she’s my sister. I hope she finally finds the right place for her. I want to wish her luck like an Oppa [older brother/older guy] would on anything she does in the future. I might not have a good relationship with the president, but Da Hye is innocent, and I don’t think she knows I was the City Hunter. I just want to see her happy.”

“Da Hye doesn’t know anything. I remember I visited her about two weeks after the assassination attempt and she seemed to be completely ignorant. I mean who could blame her? After the whole incident, I didn’t quit my job. In fact, my boss paid me money to ‘lay me off’ because I knew too much as a bodyguard and because I didn’t fully protect the president. He wanted me to tell people that I quit my job at free will so they don’t get suspicious. Also everyone who was present that day in that room and witnessed the incident was paid money to have their mouth shut. They even made them all sign a contract. And they will never speak of it again. The former president, Choi Eung Chan will not speak of it either.” Nana explained. “Yoon Sung, maybe you shouldn’t go to the wedding with me. My boss was invited by Shin Eun Ah and so was yours by Go Ki Joon. Things will get awkward and you’ll have to answer a lot of questions on why you disappeared. It might be dangerous.”

Yoon Sung appreciated Nana’s concern. However, he had to go and see. It was because he knew people were suspicious of him. He didn’t want to ‘control’ Nana and not allow her to go to the wedding. But he was afraid suspicious people would show up at the wedding and take advantage of Nana to get answers out of her. Especially her boss, who was once very skeptical about Yoon Sung. And Yoon Sung was almost positive the prosecution department was not convinced that father was the City Hunter. He knew that he was still considered the City Hunter to the people who worked for Kim Young Joo. He didn’t want those people to show up at the wedding and use Nana as a source to locate him. He wanted to take care of things himself.

Yoon Sung got up, went into Nana’s room, and lied down on her bed.

“Yoon Sung…” Nana followed him into her room. “Do you want something to eat?”

“No I’m tired and it’s already late. The wedding is tomorrow and I will definitely go with you.” He confirmed Nana.

“I knew you wouldn’t change your mind. I just hope you’re ready to see all those people again and come up with some kind of excuse. You just left your job with a resignation letter without any type of explanation.” Nana sat down on her small twin-sized bed.

Yoon Sung pulled Nana down and laid her head on his chest. “Don’t worry about me.” He whispered in her ear as he interlaced his fingers with hers.

Nana sighed and breathed in Yoon Sung’s scent. “Just promise me if things get uncomfortable, tell me, and we’ll leave the wedding reception.”

Yoon Sung didn’t answer Nana, he closed his eyes and tried to fall asleep. He didn’t want to lie to Nana, but he didn’t want to promise her either.
__

“I will pay you back, I promise.” Nana said, referring to the lavender dress and shoes Yoon Sung paid for, as she was in a taxi with Yoon Sung, on the way to the wedding.

“Pay me back tonight.” Yoon Sung smirked as he said teasingly.

“Yah, Lee Yoon Sung! I am not in the mood for this! We’re about to go to a wedding ceremony, you pervert!” Nana hit his arm.

The taxi driver cleared his throat and asked, “Is it here?”

“Oh yes, thank you.” Nana said as she tipped the driver.

The wedding took place at a church during sunset and after the wedding ceremony, all guests will be invited to the reception as well. Some who will be at the reception was not at the wedding because Shin Eun Ah and Go Ki Joon wanted a more personal wedding with close friends. Nana was happy for the newlyweds and grateful that Shin Eun Ah considered her as a close friend. And there are also some that cannot make it to the wedding; therefore they will attend the reception only.

When Nana and Yoon Sung arrived, the ceremony was about to begin. They walked inside the church and took a seat in one of the middle aisles.

Da Hye turned around at the sound of footsteps walking in the church, by now everyone was quiet and was waiting patiently for the groom and the bride, so when Nana and Yoon Sung walked in, everyone turned around to see the last to arrive. Da Hye gasped in shock. Was that seon saeng-nim [teacher/tutor] with Nana Unni [older sister/older girl]? Although Shin Eun Ah was not guarding her anymore, she still considered Eun Ah Unni to be one of her close friends, Shin Eun Ah always visited Da Hye and she once told her that Lee Yoon Sung quit his job all of a sudden without any explanation and he was nowhere to be found ever since. Da Hye was curious on what happened to him, and now she had the chance to ask. Da Hye cheered internally and planned to ask her seon saeng-nim many questions on his disappearance at the reception.

The wedding ceremony officially started almost immediately after Yoon Sung and Nana’s arrival. The wedding went smoothly and the two newlyweds got into a limousine that will take them to the reception.

Yoon Sung walked out of the church with Nana, with his arms around her shoulder. “So where’s the reception?”

“It’s about thirty minutes away.” Nana answered him as Yoon Sung hailed a taxi.

Da Hye tried to catch up with Yoon Sung however, she wasn’t quick enough. The cab drove away. I hope they go to the reception. She thought. She wanted to at least thank Yoon Sung for being her tutor and Nana for being such a good bodyguard to her when she was still the president’s daughter.
__

Yoon Sung and Nana stopped by their house to pick up the wedding gift before going to the reception. When they arrived, Yoon Sung grabbed Nana’s hand and held her hand firmly with his fingers intertwining hers. Nana was his and his only.

As calm as Yoon Sung might seem like on the outside, Nana could read his real feelings like a book. She knew that he was nervous. He held her hand so tightly not only because he wanted to tell everybody Nana was taken. Nana knew very well he needed some kind of support. And she was there to give him all her support.

Yoon Sung came up with the explanation of missing America too much and he just had to go back and see his family. However, he knew that Nana’s boss would always be suspicious of him. He witnessed father’s death and was one of them that shot him to death. He knew very well who Yoon Sung was. The only other people besides the witnesses that knew of or was suspicious of his actions would be everyone that worked under Kim Young Joo.

The first thing Yoon Sung could see walking inside the reception was a sea of people. Nana gave him a reassuring and supportive look as she dragged him towards Shin Eun Ah and Go Ki Joon, whom were surrounded by all their family and friends.

“Shin Eun Ah!” Kim Nana exclaimed her name.

“Nana oh!” Shin Eun Ah turned around and walked over to Nana. “I’m so glad you came! I didn’t know if you were coming anymore since I couldn’t get in touch with you! Where did you go?!”

“Oh I went to the countryside to visit my uncle…” Nana lied. “Congratulations on your wedding!”

“Thanks! Omo… is that… Lee Yoon Sung baksa-nim [Dr. Lee Yoon Sung]?” Shin Eun Ah was surprised to find Yoon Sung here. She clearly didn’t invite him, not because she didn’t want to, in fact Go Ki Joon wanted to invite him. However, they couldn’t get in touch with him whatsoever ever since his resignation.

“Congratulations.” Yoon Sung gave her a friendly smile.

Go Ki Joon walked at the moment he realized Yoon Sung was here. “Aigoo… Lee Yoon Sung baksa?!”

“Yes.” Yoon Sung confirmed. “Congratulations, Go Ki Joon and Shin Eun Ah.”

Go Ki Joon put his arm around Shin Eun Ah proudly. “She’s my wife now.” Referring to the slight misunderstanding before when Shin Eun Ah thought Lee Yoon Sung was after her. Although Shin Eun Ah and Go Ki Joon have only been dating for a mere 4 months, they knew they wanted to get married and were meant to be. Shin Eun Ah wanted to start a family and Go Ki Joon wanted to make his mother proud.

Shin Eun Ah blushed slightly and laughed. “Oh my husband, he’s ridiculous…”

“I know.” Yoon Sung laughed too. “And Kim Nana’s my girlfriend.” He rose up their holding hands and showed it to Go Ki Joon.

“Oh… So you were looking at Nana every time you glanced at us?” Shin Eun Ah realized.
Nana chuckled at the two newlyweds; they were always so oblivious to everything.

“No wonder… you two were always together. And were always absent at work together…” Go Ki Joon nodded. “But Lee baksa, where did you go after resigning?”

Before Yoon Sung could answer, Da Hye dashed over. “Ssam [Teacher/tutor]!”

Yoon Sung looked over at Da Hye who was obviously excited to see him.

“Where did you go?” She asked. “I wanted to at least thank you.”

“Hey, kid.” He greeted her and patted the top of her head.

“Where did you go?” She reiterated her question, ignoring his greeting.

Nana let go of Yoon Sung’s hand, knowing that he had to handle this on his own. Nana gave him a smile and walked over to another side of the room.

Yoon Sung watched Nana walk away and knew what Nana wanted to say. He needed to handle these things alone.

Nana saw a table full of wine glasses and decided to treat herself to a glass of wine. As she grabbed it and walked away with it, she glanced at the entrance of the reception and saw Jang Pil Jae, the prosecutor’s assistant. What was he doing trying to look inside of the reception through the entrance? Nana thought. Her attention was drawn towards thinking about why Jang Pil Jae would be doing here. He didn’t even know Shin Eun Ah or Go Ki Joon and he didn’t seem to be invited anyway since he was looking through the entrance. While her attention was dispersed to thinking about these questions, she didn’t realize that her wine glass hit a young woman that was walking by.

“Oh I’m so sorry!” Nana apologized.

“Omo… Nana…?” The woman analyzed Nana’s face.

“Eun Jung?” Nana gaped. What was Kang Eun Jung, Nana’s cousin, doing here?

Author’s note: Kang Eun Jung is a new character I came up with. So don’t worry, no she was not in the original City Hunter, you’re not forgetting someone lol. I added her in because I think she would be needed in this story. And I know in America (and other western countries) people find it rude when they are invited to the reception but not the wedding. However, from the Asian country I was from, it was actually common to be invited to the reception and not the actual ceremony. I don’t know about Korea but I think it might be similar. I’m sorry there wasn’t much Yoon Sung/Nana moments in this! I had to get the plot going. Anyway, Comment please. :D

  4. LOL at YS for being such a perv. He just couldn't seem to get enough of Nana, eh? Is it just me, or did Nana finally drop the formalities??? <3

Uh-oh, I smell trouble. For some reason, that Eun Jung girl seems like bad news to me. At least someone's about to spice things up. Things are surely getting exciting. :)
